geoAMPS is featured in the May 2015 edition of Smart Business Columbus magazine. The article titled “Never Compromise,” written by Associate Editor Jayne Gest, recounts geoAMPS’ founding and subsequent growth.
Gest interviewed Yogesh Khandelwal, President and Chief Executive Officer of geoAMPS, and Leena Madan, Chief Operating Officer. They discussed developing the right product, assembling the right team and building the right company culture as key to the dramatic growth geoAMPS has experienced since its founding in 2011.
“It was not easy to make those investments early on, but we said we wanted to attract the right talent, to attract the right people and set the right culture from the get-go,” Yogesh is quoted in the article.
The article appears in the magazine's print edition and on its website.
Located in the Columbus, OH area, geoAMPS offers software solutions to manage land rights and infrastructure assets. Under Yogesh’s leadership, the company’s initial product offering has been customized and expanded into 11 different software products, each of which are industry-specific. geoAMPS serves the right-of-way, oil and natural gas, renewable energy, transportation, utilities, survey, land reclamation, government, document generation, and telecommunications industries. Products also include a geographic information system (GIS) viewer.
While Yogesh leads product innovation, Leena “has made her mark with company culture,” Jayne writes.
Leena was closely involved in details for the design of a new, much larger office, which geoAMPS moved into early in 2014.
“The company has standing desks, yoga classes, top-of-the-line furniture, few hierarchies and the important cool factor,” Gest writes.
geoAMPS was among Healthiest Employers of Central Ohio honorees for 2014 and 2015. Its 40 employees are involved in several health and wellness initiatives offered by the company. They also engage in several community outreach projects throughout the year.
Yogesh and Leena see a promising future for their company.
“Companies tend to get very complacent with the fact that they have a decent position in the market. They are doing well, and at some point they stop investing in building the future,” Yogesh said.
“We’re constantly looking to build the next big thing,” Leena said. “We have a great product today and it’s a solution, but that does not mean we are not doing R&D.”
