For the second year in a row, geoAMPS was recognized for its outstanding employee health and wellness program at the Healthiest Employers of Central Ohio awards presentation.
Approximately 300 people attended the awards presentation, Wellness Expo and workshops at the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus. The event was organized by Columbus Business First, a weekly business newspaper serving the Central Ohio area.
Eighty organizations were nominated for a Healthiest Employer of Central Ohio award. Don DePerro, President and Publisher of Business First, said that is a record number of nominations for the awards program. Of those 80 nominations, only 30 were selected as honorees.
geoAMPS won second place among the honorees in the Small Organization category (up to 99 employees). This is the second consecutive year that geoAMPS has been an honoree in this category.
Leena Madan, Chief Operating Officer of geoAMPS, accepted the award.
“Being recognized for our health and wellness program among so many outstanding organizations in Central Ohio is an honor that we treasure,” she said. “All of us at geoAMPS want to extend our appreciation to Business First and Healthiest Employers for organizing this important award program, which encourages organizations of all sizes in Central Ohio to engage in health and wellness programs.”
geoAMPS continues to build upon its health and wellness initiatives. A new addition to its office in Powell opened recently. This addition includes a room called The Studio, an area devoted to the company’s health and wellness programs. The Studio features exercise equipment that is free to employees. The Studio also is where geoAMPS provides yoga classes and massages free to employees.
geoAMPS has also developed a new rewards program that encourages exercise, proper diet and and other good health habits. Points are awarded for various activities, and employees can claim prizes once they have accumulated enough points. The grand prize is a one-year gym membership or a six-month yoga membership. The company provided free pedometers to employees to encourage exercise. geoAMPS makes a standing desk available for employees who want one.
geoAMPS team members also gain health-related benefits through the company’s human resources services provider.
Launched in 2011, geoAMPS is providing health programs that rival those offered by large established organizations.
