The geoAMPS team donated 3,625 nonperishable food and toiletry items to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank during the team’s annual food drive to help those less fortunate during Thanksgiving.
The annual food drive is yet another community outreach by geoAMPS. This marks the third consecutive year geoAMPS has donated to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, which serves the central and eastern Ohio region.
Led by Yogesh Khandelwal, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Leena Madan, Chief Operating Officer, geoAMPS employees made monetary and food donations throughout the month of November.
“I am very proud of our excellent team here at geoAMPS for embracing the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday and giving generously to those less fortunate,” Yogesh said. “We congratulate the important community service being performed by the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and are pleased to be able to support their efforts.”
The 2014 food drive far surpassed what was collected for the food bank in 2013. Last year, geoAMPS donated 1,066 nonperishable food items and $941.
“We greatly appreciate the generous donations from the geoAMPS team,” Matt Habash, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, said. “Yogesh, Leena and all of the employees at geoAMPS realize that during this Thanksgiving season, more people than ever in central and eastern Ohio are desperately struggling to make ends meet. Many will wake up hungry. They need someone to care about them in these hard times, now more than ever.”
geoAMPS engages in a number of community outreach projects each year. In addition to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, geoAMPS supports the American Red Cross, the Humane Society of Delaware County and the Franklin County Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family program.
