geoAMPS team accepts ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

geoAMPS took the Ice Bucket Challenge, helping the ALS Association reach Challenge donations in excess of $111 million as of Sept. 8, 2014.
 
Eighteen members of the geoAMPS team, including Chief Operating Officer Leena Madan, accepted the Challenge and were doused with buckets of water and ice.

“This was a fun way to join as a team in support the ALS Association,” Leena said. “The Ice Bucket Challenge is just one of the activities geoAMPS participates in throughout the year for charitable causes and the community.”
 
geoAMPS raised in excess of $200 to help the ALS Association in its fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.  Patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
 
The ALS Association is the only national non-profit organization fighting ALS. The organization leads the fight through global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships.
 
geoAMPS has also provided support to the American Red Cross and the Humane Society of Delaware County (Ohio).

Indiana IRWA Chapter 10 invites geoAMPS to present

Chapter 10 represents IRWA members throughout the state of Indiana. The chapter invited geoAMPS to give a presentation during its meeting June 2 at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville.
