geoAMPS CEO among 20 People to Know in Energy

Yogesh Khandelwal, President and Chief Executive Officer of geoAMPS, has been selected one of 20 People to Know in Energy by Columbus Business First, a weekly business publication serving the Central Ohio area.

Once a month, Business First shines the spotlight on 20 individuals in the Central Ohio region who are front and center in their respective industries.

Yogesh founded geoAMPS in 2011. While his educational background is in civil engineering, he became focused on software development early in his career. With his experience in energy and other industries, he saw a lack of solutions comprehensive enough to meet the varied demands of businesses. That resulted in data stored in multiple solutions, creating silos that were inefficient and frustrating for those in the industry.

“I came to realize that filling these voids in the energy industry and other industries was a potential niche for a new company,” he said. “Today, geoAMPS is setting the standard for software solutions in the energy industry, and that has contributed greatly to our dramatic growth in a relatively short period of time.”

Eliminating inefficiencies

In his meetings with energy industry leaders, he found that the industry continues to be predominantly paper-based, which creates project and organizational inefficiencies that the geoAMPS solution helps eliminate.

Yogesh developed the 11 industry-specific software products that are offered by geoAMPS. Those products include landAMPS for management of oil and natural gas projects and altAMPS for management of renewable energy projects.

In the article in Business First, Yogesh and the other 19 People to Know in Energy responded to questions about the freeze of renewable energy standards in Ohio and the job-creating potential and environmental impact of fracking.

Yogesh received national recognition by being named to the 2013 Who’s Who in Energy by The Business Journals newspapers. Also, he was named by Columbus Business First to the 2013 Class of Forty Under 40, a prestigious honors program in Central Ohio.

Dan Liggett is Communications and Public Relations Manager of geoAMPS, a technology company in the Columbus, OH, area that specializes in software solutions to manage land rights and infrastructure assets. For more information, call 614-389-4871 or visit www.geoamps.com.
