geoAMPS team gives generously this Thanksgiving holiday

The geoAMPS team continued their community outreach by giving generously this Thanksgiving holiday to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, which serves the central and eastern Ohio region.

Led by Yogesh Khandelwal, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Leena Madan, Chief Operating Officer, geoAMPS employees made monetary and food donations throughout the month of November.

By Thanksgiving Day, the donations totaled $941 and 1,066 nonperishable food items. The Mid-Ohio Foodbank reports that it can turn the geoAMPS donations into approximately 4,000 meals.

“We greatly appreciate the generous donations from the geoAMPS team,” Matthew Habash, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, said. “Yogesh, Leena and all of the employees at geoAMPS realize that during this Thanksgiving season, more people than ever in central and eastern Ohio are desperately struggling to make ends meet. Many will wake up hungry. They need someone to care about them in these hard times, now more than ever.”

“I am very proud of our excellent team here at geoAMPS for embracing the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday and giving generously to those less fortunate,” Yogesh said. “We congratulate the vital community service being performed by the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and are pleased to be able to provide our support.”

geoAMPS engages in a number of community outreach projects each year. In addition to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, geoAMPS supports the American Red Cross, the Humane Society of Delaware County and the Salvation Army Adopt-A-Family program.

Mid-Ohio Foodbank works to keep food shelves stocked for a network of 550 emergency food pantries, soup kitchens and other agencies. The organization provides more than 107,000 meals each day.

“Our organization provides meals and hope to people who are facing hunger this holiday season and in the upcoming cold winter months,” Matthew said. “They are children, seniors and families; they are neighbors, coworkers and friends. Local companies like geoAMPS help to meet the demand for food which continues to grow each day.”
