eMagazine publishes geoAMPS' wind farm management solution

The Alternative Energy eMagazine on altenergymag.com has published an article from geoAMPS titled “Meeting Ongoing Payment Obligations for Wind Farms.”

The article, co-written by Yogesh Khandelwal President and Chief Executive Officer of geoAMPS, and Dan Liggett, Communications and Public Relations Manager, discusses how the geoAMPS software product altAMPS can help wind energy companies through a major pain point: managing ongoing payments.
The article appears in the August/Sept. 2013 issue of The Alternative Energy eMagazine. Click here to read the entire article as it appears on the website.

Wind companies rely on various means to meet ongoing payments related to their wind farm operations. Some still work from paper records. Others use computer calendars. Spreadsheets are commonly utilized. In each case, though, extensive manual tweaking of the data is necessary. That increases the chances of erroneous or inconsistent information.

Technology now exists that can help wind companies avoid the pitfalls of traditional methods of meeting ongoing payments. Developed by geoAMPS, altAMPS is a software product that automates many of the processes necessary to ensure that payments go out accurately and on schedule.

geoAMPS configures the altAMPS software to meet the needs of each client and/or project. All landowner and payment information is entered into the system once. Changes are made with minimal rework.

The software manages and tracks payments on an ongoing basis. Rather than relying on hundreds of manual calculations each month that tie up staff time and are prone to error, the web-based software, operating from a central repository of project and company information, conducts automatic calculations. The software intuitively factors the many variables that exist with landowner and payment data.

The article goes into further details about how altAMPS assists the management of wind farms. That increases wind company and project efficiency and, in turn, advances further development of wind power.
