As part of its Platinum Sponsorship, geoAMPS plans to provide the mobile application for this year’s conference. This will mark the second consecutive year that geoAMPS has built a mobile app for use by conference attendees.
“geoAMPS is committed to advancing technology in the right of way industry,” Yogesh Khandelwal, President and Chief Executive Officer of geoAMPS, said. “The IRWA conference app helps demonstrate how mobile technology can be utilized to share information and simplify communication between users, a capability that offers tremendous efficiencies to right of way projects, and in this case, conference attendees.”
For 2013, geoAMPS is incorporating many improvements suggested by last year’s users. One of those improvements is a new scheduling tool that will allow app users to browse sessions, meetings and events. They will be able to add those of interest directly to their mobile device’s calendar. This dynamic feature provides users with the ability to create their own customized schedule of events with automated reminders and easy-to-find locations.
Another app feature that is receiving a makeover will be the built-in local restaurant finder. Attendees looking to venture outside of the conference and explore local eateries will have a robust tool to find places to eat that are popular with Charleston residents.
After last year’s conference in Seattle, the IRWA marketing staff conducted a survey of attendees. More than 80 percent of attendees liked the idea of the mobile application and the 40 percent who downloaded the app rated it easy to use and a very valuable tool. Survey takers provided additional feedback that has helped geoAMPS and IRWA plan a more powerful conference app experience.
geoAMPS will release the conference app prior to this year’s conference. Users will be pleased with the amount of improvements and modifications the conference app contains, including the entire conference program on Apple and Android devices.
IRWA traditionally schedules many educational sessions in the four-day event. These sessions address a wide variety of topics, such as asset management, environment, pipeline, relocation, ethics, surveying and engineering, transportation, utilities and valuation.
The scheduled guest speaker for the opening ceremony is Joe Malarkey, the self-proclaimed “Worse Motivational Speaker in America.” Scheduled to speak on June 25 is West Virginia native Homer Hickham, the author of “Rocket Boys,” a New York Times bestseller.
geoAMPS is a technology company located in the Columbus, OH, area that specializes in software solutions to manage land rights and infrastructure assets.
