geoAMPS supports tournament to raise money for International Justice Mission

Columbus Dodgeball Press Banner

geoAMPS is helping raise money as a sponsor of the Columbus Dodgeball Tournament. The Columbus Dodgeball Tournament is supporting the International Justice Mission (IJM), a human right agency dedicated to making freedom possible for children and families around the world. The funds raised will support IJM’s efforts to free individuals and families held in slavery, children forced into prostitution and others trapped in violent injustice around the world.

The Columbus Dodgeball Tournament is being organized with support of geoAMPS LLC and Dublin Lifetime Fitness. The local businesses are donating funds and facilities to the event to be held Thursday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. at Lifetime Fitness, 3825 Hard Road, Dublin, OH.

The goal of tournament organizers is to raise $4,500 through team registration cost and donations to support rescue mission operations conducted by the IJM to end sex slavery around the word.

“I’m excited to help raise money for such an important cause,” Dustin Pearce, event coordinator, said. “Many people don’t realize that human trafficking and sex slavery are still huge problems in our world today. I hope that through growing support, including community events like this tournament, we can see an end to sex slavery in our lifetimes.”

Every day, IJM works with local governments in Africa, Asia and Latin America to rescue people from slavery, sex trafficking and other forms of violent injustice. IJM helps survivors heal through aftercare and counseling, holds criminals accountable in local courts and helps communities fix the problem for good with legislation.

The tournament is expected to attract up to 190 individuals and has generated interest from amateur and professional dodgeball players alike. To participate, individuals are encouraged to form teams of 6 to 10 players with at least two female participants. The registration fee of $280 will go directly to the IJM. The tournament will consist of 16 teams competing in a double-elimination bracket. Other event activities will include goodie bags at the registration desk and a raffle.

I fell completely backwards into what was then a startup in 2012 with 7 employees and no marketing team. Since then the experiences, opportunities and the working environment that geoAMPS has allotted to me and my colleagues has been amazing, I’ve never looked back.
